What the Data Shows

Six patterns from real Contra data, social media analysis, and winner deep-dives.

Quality Over Popularity

In Config 2026, the $50K grand prize went to a post with 23 likeswhile the most-liked non-winner had 149. Judges reward originality, not just popularity.

Social Presence Predicts Winning

Config 2026 winners averaged 2.2 platformscross-posted vs 0 for non-winners. Build In Public is a real judging category now.

Lee Black Won Twice

The only two-time winner in the dataset: Airwwave (March 2026) and Connected Earth (Config 2026). Consistency across very different projects.
