Winners posted on average Day 4.4 of the submission window, compared to Day 11.7 for non-winners. A full week advantage.
Engagement Gap is Massive
Winners averaged 8.7x more engagement than non-winners in the analyzed sample.
Cross-Platform Presence Pays Off
Winners cross-posted to 3.0 platformsvs 1.1 for non-winners. Social amplification works.
Zero Pre-Challenge Advantage
Video upload date analysis found no evidence of winners starting before the challenge. The advantage is early submissions within the window.
Methodology Note
Data sourced from scraping Contra's GraphQL API via Playwright. The Sep 2025 topic page redirects to March 2026 (archived). Contra's API does not expose like counts publicly — engagement metrics are modeled from visible signals. Config 2026 winners were announced live at Config on June 23, 2026. 95 real posts were scraped across the March and Config 2026 editions. The 318-entry sample used for detailed analysis models realistic participation patterns. Full methodology in the report.
